Nursing and midwifery in the digital age

The theme of NI 2021, Nursing and midwifery in the digital age, shows nursing professionals as frontline users of digital solutions in the world of digitally driven, patient-centred healthcare.

Accepted papers and abstracts of panels, posters and case studies will be published in a full open access IOS Press series of Studies in Health Technology and Informatics and indexed in PubMed.

Why submit

  • Share your research and studies on ways to improve healthcare
  • Partner with healthcare facilities, clinicians, vendors and others to present a compelling case for the value of ‘on the shop floor’ implementation
  • Have your voice heard
  • Share your innovations that got you through the COVID-19 pandemic on an international stage

PAPER

Share your original contribution that either describes a study, a novel system, methodology, or new insights from research or practice. A paper accepted in this category will be shared by oral video presentation of 15 minutes.

WORKSHOP

A 120 minute workshop is aimed at engaging the audience and collaboratively working around a specific theme. In a workshop, the facilitators work with the audience rather than as experts or thought leaders.

PANEL

A panel is offered for 60 minutes and typically feature 3-5 panellists, each giving a brief presentation or making a position statement, followed by at least 30 minutes of discussion and active audience interaction and participation.

POSTER

A poster illustrates pilot research, research in progress, or the design of a system or process, with a clear statement of the degree of innovation and key learning to date, and should be a maximum of 2 pages in length.

CASE STUDIES

Case study abstracts can be submitted in one of two categories – clinical or industry – and showcase practical applications of the latest digital health technologies. Selected case studies are presented as a 15-minute video presentation.
